Thank you CHRG. A Huge thanks to Vanessa who six weeks ago took this old couch potato who couldn't even run for one whole minute and whose kind encouragement turned me into runner. Thanks to the lovely ladies who kept me going last night thus helping me to achieve 8K.
CHRG you are a wonderful, warm, friendly group and I am proud to say I am one of you. I have entered my first 5K Race for Life in Basildon on June 23 and hope I shall do you proud.Thank you all from the bottom of my running shoes.

Hanora

I'm not proud of myself much! I honestly couldn't run more than one minute when I joined the CHRG and yesterday I proudly ran a muddy hilly full 5k RFL in 37 minutes:)))

"Because the group has all different abilities and everyone is really friendly. The social aspect of the group is fab and I for one have made some wonderful new friends. Also I was the unfitest person in Essex last September and just completed a 10 mile race! So it shows it works 100%"

"For me as a newby to chafford last year and joining a group.. Chrg exceeded my expectations I got to meet lovely people, exercise, made friends from the people I have met..blessed with such supportive people , trimmed through exercise.. whilst i cant run due to bad knees there still has been fantastic support from the group and there is an inner walking group to the runners.. My conclusion is that if you are not in you are missing out..."

"I went from struggling to run 2 miles to ENJOYING running 10 miles in quite a short space of time, I'm thinner, in fitter & I now have a great group of friends which is probably the best bit about joining the group! I LOVE IT X"
Kate

"Without CHRG I would have given in to the sofa ages ago. Also, i have met a great bunch of people who motivate me in to running further ..... Royal Parks Half Marathon here I come x"
Vanessa

"The option to do whatever distance u feel capable of is brilliant, be it walking or running. There is no pressure . I never thought I would be running 10k distance Vanessa convinced me I could & I did!! & now I have signed up to the Windsor half marathon!! It is a very friendly group of peeps!"

"I joined the group last august to learn how to run & not only have I managed that but also found I enjoy it!! I've noticed a huge change in my shape. The people in the group (esp Vanessa) are incredibly supportive, committed & have a genuine regard for progressing group members. There is also a walking group which is brilliant for those struggling with injuries. Xxx"

"If you asked me about running a few months ago I would have said "I don't do running" having joined chrg I can now run/jog 5k without stopping and have decided to do the 5x50 challenge (run, walk, cycle or swim 5k everyday for 50 days) starting 31 March! The group are so supportive, you are never alone and you are encouraged the while time. Every little achievement is recognised. It's fun and it's free .... Just cancelled my gym membership!"Rebecca

"I joined the group last August & went from not be able to run a very far at all to being up to 10K in a month & have just recently completed a 10 mile run. The group is great as no matter what your ability you will find someone to pair up. The group is very supportive & is one of the best things I've ever done. I have lost weight & my body shape has completely changed & at the age of 42 I am now the fittest/healthiest I have ever been. I've also met some amazing people that I now consider good friends."
Michelle

"I joined last October being an absolute beginner and have just run my 3rd 10K which I thought I could never do! The group are very friendly and made me feel very welcome and gave lots of support. It's lovely to chat away while we run and makes the time go so much quicker. Also I like the social aspect of the group and I'm looking forward to the lovely group meal out next month. It's a great way of getting fit (I enjoy outside running much better than working out at the gym) and a great way to make friends."
Linda

" I join the group at the beginning of this year, the group are really friendly and supportive. I was unable to run for long than 5 minutes at a time, now I am just about up to doing the full 5k running which I never thought I would be able to do. Coming along and give it a try. I know I would never have come this far without the group x"
Laura

"It can be pretty boring running on your own all the time"
Oliver

" A great way to meet new friends and get fit. Very motivating to go out on them evenings when you could easily sit on the sofa instead.Vanessa and team are very supportive and keep pushing u to do more and better. ADDICTIVE"
Sam

"I joined this running group over 1 year ago & its changed my life! I am more active and more likely to go out for a run when I know someone else is running with me! Its also a great way off meeting really nice people and making new friends! From only managing to run a few minuets without stopping to running for hour and keeping a steady paste has helped me get fit and healthy! SO COME & JOIN USE!!!!!!"
Kay

"I have run for a while, but in the group I have more motivation to get up Sunday and run and to run further. Its very easy to do a short run on your own or not bother. In the group can chat the way round and not realise the distance. Have also met some lovely people! Have been going about a year now."
